I have tried to stop myself from listening to this book. It is quite lengthy and I normally don’t like xian xia story. In addition, this book looks more like the manga type. So, what made me changed my mind? It was recorded in male and female voices and I also read the translation at Moonbunnycafe. Since the translation is done voluntarily, it will take some time for it to complete. I also noticed that there are more than 27 million listeners on this audiobook. That is an indicator that I should give the book a chance. Overall, it is quite entertaining and you won’t notice that you have gone through 196 episodes.
Summary:
ML – Ye Wu Shang. FL – Qi Bao Er/Qi Lou Er. The story started with FL went trekking and got lost in the jungle. She went through a time travel tunnel without realising it. She encountered a leopard and was thinking on how to get away when suddenly something dropped from the sky on the leopard. It was a four year old boy. The boy claimed that he was from the nearby village. The boy is actually the Demon King (Yue Wu Shang). Every 100 years, he will revert to a child and lose all his power temporarily. FL and ML spent a nite together and the next morning, ML was no longer found. FL’s backpack also went missing.
FL encountered another man (Yun Hua) from the Purple Cloud Clan. It was prophesied that a Celestial Maiden will appear and the Purple Cloud Clan has been recruiting girls in order to search for the Celestial Maiden. ML got his power back the next day and in order to create chaos at the Purple Cloud Clan, he changed himself into a girl and sneaked into the Purple Cloud Clan. FL has no place to go hence decided to follow Yun Hua back to the Purple Cloud Clan.
FL initially thought that she was the reincarnation of Yun Hua’s lover, another Purple Cloud member called Yun Ling Er. Yun Ling Er married another demon king and when that demon king attacked Purple Cloud Clan, she killed herself and the demon king together. In actual fact, FL was the reincarnation of the child of Yun Ling Er and her demon husband.
It was also prophesied that ML will be killed by FL. ML’s friend asked both of them not to fall for each other. There were lots of misunderstanding that happened between ML and FL that caused them to hurt each other but they ended up happily together.
