Summary:
FL (Wen Jiu) is a pretty and independent woman works as a Financial Advisor. One day, she saw an advertisement looking for a part-time girlfriend for 7 days with a lucrative payout. FL applied for the job.
ML (Yan Lu) is a wealthy businessman wanting to rent a part-time girlfriend to bring back to his hometown during Chinese New Year to meet his grandparents. ML asked his business associate (Shang Jing Tian) for help. SJT in return asked his ex-girlfriend (Xu Ting Ting) to interview the applicants. FL got shortlisted and she went for the interview. SJT was shocked when he saw FL. FL looks like his ex-girlfriend (Yi Tang). SJT advised ML not to pick FL and pick another girl instead. ML changed his mind after he saw how FL saved a man from a suicide attempt.
FL told her mum that she is going to Thailand with her new boyfriend for holiday during the New Year. When FL arrived at the meeting place to start her job, she was shocked that it was not SJT that recruited her. FL and Yi Tang were stepsisters. Yi Tang killed herself after SJT separated from Yi Tang. FL took up the job to kick SJT’s ass. Since it was ML that wanted the part-time girlfriend instead of SJT, FL asked to cancel the job but was told that she will need to pay back 10 times as compensation. FL decided, at last, to continue since she already told her family she will be away.
ML is an OCD. He puts a lot of insensible and ridiculous conditions on the contract. FL is very smart and purposely pissed off ML. ML’s paternal grandparents like FL. ML recruited a part-time girlfriend to dissuade his maternal grandfather from pressuring him to marry another girl. Before ML’s mother died, she betrothed ML to her best friend’s daughter (Yu Qian Qian). Although the engagement was never formalised, both families have already considered YQQ as ML’s fiancée. ML never like YQQ even though YQQ has chased after him since their school days.
ML and FL were attracted to each other, because of their pride, both continue their pretence and did not want to acknowledge their feelings. YQQ tried to sabotage ML and FL’s relationship but was not successful. In return, it made them become even closer.
When FL and ML returned to the city, ML used all kinds of method to get FL to notice him. He even moved to stay opposite FL. FL finally accepted ML as her boyfriend. SJT was worried that FL will tell ML about Yi Tang hence plotted to separate them. SJT showed ML a photo of him and Yi Tang many years ago and told ML that FL was his ex-girlfriend and her intention was to punish him by being with ML.
ML believed SJT’s story and that got FL very angry and decided to split with ML. ML regretted his stupidity and tried to make up with FL. After FL forgives ML, she did not want to continue their relationship. ML went to get support from FL’s family and after many attempts, he managed to get back with FL. ML was very sneaky. In order to marry FL, he purposely gets FL pregnant.
