Summary:
FL (Lou Chen) and her cousins had a bet to find a treasure within one year period. FL went the opposite direction when she saw her cousin sister, Yan Ning travel towards the west. When FL arrived at Loh Sui Village, she saw a small girl crying at the foothill. The girl told her that her mother is very sick and her brother broke her leg during hunting. FL stays on to treat the girl’s mother and brother.
FL met ML (Jin Yan Hen) in Loh Sui Village. ML is a constable investigating a murder case. ML finds FL interesting and curious about her background. FL befriended Dr Fang Ru Hui and Qu Ning Shuang, who is a daughter to the local magistrate. Qu Ning Shuang wants to be a constable and forensic pathologist just like her two female idols in Qiong Yue country.
Things starts to turn serious after they saved a man called Xing Mu. Xing Mu was on the way to Qiong Yue country to deliver a sword called Jin Ke. Xing Mu saw FL has a sword called Cang Feng. Cang Feng and Jin Ke created from the same source. They got chased by a group of assassinates from the Lin Shui Meng Sect.
FL met Yu Xian who came from the Tan Tai General’s family. Yu Xian likes FL. ML does not like Yu Xian because of that. ML found out later that Yu Xian is actually his cousin brother. Yu Xian’s mother and ML’s mothers are sisters.
ML got poisoned trying to save FL. FL felt indebted towards him. FL search for the antidote for ML’s poison. They ventured dangerously into Fang Ling Ge hoping to get the antidote. Fang Ru Hui’s father used to be the leader of Fang Ling Ge. After his wife got poisoned, he left Fang Ling Ge with his wife. His wife died two years after she gave birth to Fang Ru Hui. Fang Ru Hui remembered his father’s dying advice to ask him to find Bi Du Zhu hidden in Fang Ling Ge.
ML knows from very young that his aunty has been hiding his identity. ML’s aunty (Jin Ru) gets nervous when she heard about Lin Shui Meng Sect and when she saw the Jin Ke sword. Jin Ru told ML that she was actually his mother’s younger sister from the Fu family in Jin Du city. Jin Ru said ML’s parents always visited the Fu’s family every year after she married. When Jin Ru was 18 years old, her sister and brother in law did not turn up. Jin Ru left home to look for them. When Jin Ru found them, ML’s father was already killed. ML’s sister passed ML to Jin Ru telling her to keep her son safe and do not seek revenge for their death. ML’s sister got killed as well. Jin Ru and ML hid in Lou Shui town for 18 years.
When ML and FL reached Jing Du city, the mystery slowly unfolded. ML and FL met an assassination attempt and both got injured heavily. Lou Xi (FL’s brother) rushed from Qiong Yu Country to help FL. The assassination instructed by a spy hidden in the Jin clan. The Liao Yue Country Emperor, Bai Yi also has a hand in some of the planned incidents. It was later revealed that it was a plot arranged by Zhan Wu Qin (Lin Shui Meng Sect leader) and Bai Xiao (Emperor’s brother).
