This is my first Yue Chu Yun’s book. I have listened to this in parts (front and end) a few years ago. It was from this book, I got to know about 错妃诱情 (Cuò Fēi Yòu Qíng) I listened to book again and this time from the start till the end. I found a few versions in Ximalaya. You can pick either one to listen. Or you can read the english translation of the book. Of course the book is not fully translated yet.
Summary:
On FL (Hua Zhu Yu) and Ji Feng Li (ML)’s wedding nite, ML tricked FL to drink a poison wine. FL received an imperial edict promoting her to Princess to replace Wen Wan to marry Bei Chao Guo’s Prince. FL questioned the Eunuch the conflicting imperial edicts to marry ML first and then Bei Chao Guo’s Prince. ML asked his servant to prepare stationary to write his divorce paper. ML did not know how FL looks like because he did not lift her head scarf. Before the wedding, FL’s father (Hua Mu) sealed her inner energy to prevent her from using her kung fu. After she took the poison wine, she lost all energy to move. The Eunuch took FL back to the palace to prepare her and to stop her from escaping. FL’s personal maid (Jin Se) sneaked in as part of the escort team. FL asked her servant to put a black mark on her face to hide her real looks.
FL predicted that they will get ambushed to encourage Hua Mu to go to war with Bei Chao Guo. FL sent her servant, Tao Se away. While FL and Jin Se tried to escape, Jin Se swapped her clothes with FL. Jin Se passed her chain to FL to ask her to fulfil her last wish to find her family member. FL heard screaming from Jin Se. No matter what she did, she could not move. A group of soldiers found FL and took her back to the military camp. FL met Xiao Yin, the Prince from Bei Chao Guo. Xiao Yin wanted to humiliate Nan Chao Guo, sent FL to the prostitute camp.
FL realised the poison in her body got dissolved by itself. When one of the soldiers tried to rape her, FL overtook him and advised him to think twice on the possibility that Xiao Yin might change his mind. The soldier left. FL noticed the military prostitute has freedom to move around the camp. FL tried to escape and accidentally got into Xiao Yin’s tent. Xiao Yin did not recognise FL. FL offered to play zither to show her value.
Xiao Yin decided to attack Nan Chao Guo. Xiao Yin got FL to play zither at the battlefield. FL recognised it was the Hua Military defending the attack. FL played a song to encourage the fighting spirit of the Hua Military. Xiao Yin lost. A spy sneaked into FL’s tent. FL escaped with the spy but got captured by Xiao Yin. Xiao Yin realised the root cause of his loss. FL did not want Xiao Yin to use her to threaten her father. FL told Xiao Yin she was only a servant named Dan Hong, the zither player for the military.
Xiao Yin brought FL back to Bei Chao Guo. The admirers of Xiao Yin got jealous of FL and tried to cause trouble to FL. FL got locked up in the wood room. FL overheard the servants’ conversation that her family would get executed. FL asked Xiao Yin to let her go back to save Hua Mu and in return she will help him to conquer the north to increase his power. FL donned on male clothing and went to Liang Zhou and to meet with her staffs. Her staffs shocked but happy when they saw that she was still alive. FL faked her own death as the well-known general Yin Mian Xiu Luo before she married.
FL asked her staff to unseal her energy so she can use her kung fu. FL went to the execution place to rescue Hua Mu. FL tried to kill ML but failed. FL did not realise that Xiao Yin came and watched everything from a tea house. FL escaped. Hua Mu did not survive. Hua Mu died from poisoning. FL asked her staff to go to Xi Liang Guo to hide. She made a pact with them to meet again in Du city in a few months. FL left on her own.
FL got ambushed. A man with his old servant saved FL. FL went to Bei Chao Guo and met Xiao Yin on the way. FL helped Xiao Yin win the tribal wars. Xiao Yin fell in love with FL and wanted to make her his woman. Xiao Yin stopped when he saw the chain on FL’s neck. The chain belongs to his sister. Xiao Yin thought FL was his sister. Dou Qian Jin, the prince from Xi Liang Guo proposed a political marriage with FL. Xiao Yin’s nanny knows FL is not a princess and helped FL to escape. The nanny suggested to FL to accept the marriage proposal and leave on her wedding day. The night before she left, Xiao Yin went to see her and he was very drunk. Xiao Yin confessed his feelings to FL.
FL escaped and went back to Nan Chao Guo. FL worked as a musician in a tea house and met Huang Fu Wu Shuang, the Nan Chao Crown Prince. Huang Fu Wu Shuang was there to create problem for FL after he heard Wen Wan injured her figures trying to learn to play the zither like FL. FL wanted to get into the palace to investigate her father’s treason case. FL pretended to get castrated and became an Eunuch. FL told Huang Fu Wu Shuang she hated ML and will help him to fight ML.
FL met ML and Wen Wan during a lantern festival. FL schemed to cancel the engagement between ML and Wen Wan and got Wen Wan to get listed in the consort selection. ML fights back and spread rumour that FL is the gay lover of Huang Fu Wu Shuang and it angers the Emperor. FL and Huang Fu Wu Shuang got beaten by the Emperor. FL followed Huang Fu Wu Shuang to the summer palace. FL noticed ML did not want anyone to know he has kung fu. FL used it as her advantage to hit ML during a fighting match. After the match is over, FL went to a lake in the hill to take a bath. Her private time got intruded by ML. After exchanging heated words, FL left and took ML’s clothes with her.
Xiao Yin came. ML noticed how protective Xiao Yin was towards FL and suspected she was a spy. Xiao Yin persuaded FL to return to Bei Guo with him but FL refused. Xiao Yin left with Wen Wan as his hostage. The Emperor and the Huang Fu Wu Shang got an attack from a wild bear. The Emperor suspected Huang Fu Wu Shuang. Both FL and Huang Fu Wu Shuang got imprisoned. Huang Fu Wu Shang ascended the throne. ML took FL away from the prison.
FL offered to work for ML. FL followed ML to the flooding area. FL helped the epidemic victims. ML got sick. The doctor diagnosed ML got poisoned before he got infected. ML did not recover from the medicine. FL got infected and recovered a few years ago from the same epidemic. FL has antibody in her blood. FL procrastinating whether to save ML or not. At last, FL used her own blood to feed ML. ML found out later that FL fed him blood through her mouth.
ML’s heart throbbed when FL moves near to him. ML tried to have sex with a prostitute but failed. ML got more attracted to FL. Bei Guo started war. ML and FL went to battle. FL went to see Xiao Yin and noticed he has changed. FL saw Wen Wan playing the song that Dan Hong played when FL goes to battle. Xiao Yin did not recognise FL, capture her and imprison her. ML rescued FL and got injured on the way back.
ML’s staff noticed ML attraction towards FL. They fed ML aphrodisiac drug and planned to get a prostitute to service him. FL went to see ML and got mistaken for being a prostitute. ML has sex with FL. FL wanted to go back to kill ML but stopped herself when she saw ML’s servant brought a woman to his tent. FL decided to wait for her revenge and hope that ML will not remember her. ML was in delirium and did not recognise FL. After it was over, ML thought he slept with Rong Si, the only woman in the camp. ML proposed to marry Rong Si. Rong Si accepted ML’s proposal.
Nan Chao and Bei Guo started another battle. ML sent Rong Si away to keep her safe. FL got an important task to attack Bei Guo from behind. Xiao Yin abducted Rong Si. FL bumped into Wen Wan and abducted her. FL suggested to exchange the hostages but her plan got spoilt by ML. When FL saw Rong Si’s face, she got a shock. Rong Si is Jin Se. FL fight her way to rescue Jin Se. Jin Se got injured. ML came to help. War ended. FL got punished for not following military order.
FL went to see Jin Se. Jin Se said ML is actually a good person. The poison wine that he fed FL can detoxified with another cup of wine. ML rushed to save them when he realised the Emperor’s evil plan to make use of them.
Jin Se vomited. ML’s servant hinted that Jin Se might be pregnant. ML decided to marry Jin Se at Yang Guan city. FL went to the wedding without invitation. FL left early and went to a teahouse to meet with her staffs. FL’s staff told FL, they received a secret message from Dan Hong the proof that ML wanted to get rid of Hua Mu. FL changed her mind and rushed back to the wedding. This time, FL asked Jin Se to leave with her. Jin Se refused and said she will cancel the wedding instead. FL and ML fight. FL lost.
FL returned to the capital city and met Huang Fu Wu Shuang. Huang Fu Wu Shuang has changed and became powerful. FL saw how Huang Fu Wu Shuang took control of the governance. FL asked Huang Fu Wu Shuang to let Dan Hong goes but he refused. Dan Hong took on a new identity to enter the palace and became Huang Fu Wu Shang’s consort.
ML accused of treason giving the excuse that he almost married Bei Chao Guo’s princess. FL puzzled how Huang Fu Wu Shuang knows about Jin Se’s background. Huang Fu Wu Shuang said the information came from Wen Wan. Huang Fu Wu Shuang asked FL to arrange to kill ML. FL did as told. As FL stabbed ML, ML asked FL whether her anger has subsided. ML confessed his love to FL. FL’s heart broke after ML died. FL got pregnant but lost her baby. FL noticed she got poisoned and her inner power is getting weaker.
FL noticed Huang Fu Wu Shuang’s possessiveness and started to plan to escape with Dan Hong. But before she could do that something happened. Nan Chao Guo has a party. The prince from Yue Shi Guo came. ML returned alive pretended as Prince Nalan. ML wore a face mask so no one could recognise him. Wen Wan told everyone during the party that FL is not an Eunuch and Dan Hong’s baby belongs to FL. Huang Fu Wu Shuang used the opportunity to end FL’s pretence and gave her a new identity.
FL became Miss Nie and will become Huang Fu Wu Shuang’s Empress. FL attempted suicide to force Huang Fu Wu Shuang to bring Dan Hong to her. FL realised Dan Hong is Zhuo Ya Princess and her father is the mastermind behind everything that had happened. FL has a secret meeting with Xiao Yin and told him about Dan Hong. On the wedding day, FL and Dan Hong swapped places. FL escaped. Xiao Yin went to Huang Fu Wu Shuang’s wedding and announced that Dan Hong is his biological sister. FL pretended as dancer and attempted to kill Xiao Yin. FL failed and got captured.
FL wanted to force the mastermind who supported Huang Fu Wu Shuang to reveal himself. FL already suspected this person is Hua Mu. Hua Mu insisted FL continued on as Huang Fu Wu Shuang’s empress. ML came to rescue FL. ML’s real identity is Huang Fu Wu Xiang, the son of Xie Empress. Huang Fu Wu Shuang opened the trap door and escape with FL. FL told Huang Fu Wu Shuang she did not love him and left. FL went back to the palace to see ML. FL wanted to confirm Prince Nalan is Feng Ji Li. ML got injured and became unconscious. FL stayed by ML’s beside two days to nurse him.
Dan Hong and Xiao Yin asked FL to leave with them to Bei Chao Guo. FL did not accept their suggestion. ML confessed his love to FL and asked FL to marry him. FL worried her identity will cause trouble to ML. ML told FL it was his father, Emperor Yan who sent the poison wine and the imperial edict to swap FL place with Wen Wan. ML saved Jin Se but worried that it could be another plot of Hua Mu. It was never his intention to harm FL.
The real Prince Nalan came to see FL and told her about ML’s childhood. Everyone objected to ML marrying FL and ML refused to listen. ML went to see FL and they shared passionate nights together. FL went to see Yan Emperor. Xie Empress killed by Emperor Yan. That is why ML refused to acknowledge Emperor Yan as his father. Hua Mu knows about the truth and that was why he prevented Hua Mu to return to capital city. Yan Emperor asked FL not to help Hua Mu.
On FL and ML’s wedding, their ceremony kept being interrupted. First Xiao Yin came, then Dou Qian Jin. ML insisted to continue even after they heard Emperor Yan got murdered. FL told ML she did not kill Emperor Yan. After the ceremony is over, ML sent FL to prison instead of the bridal room. Someone break into the prison. FL refused to leave. FL got to know that Huang Fu Wu Shuang is now called Mu Feng. Hua Mu is from Mo Guo. Many years ago, Yan Emperor wiped out Mo Guo.
ML killed the intruders. ML decorated the prison room into a bridal room. ML insisted they consummated their marriage. Xiao Yin breaks into the prison and asks FL to leave with him. FL still call Xiao Yin “brother” but Xiao Yin refused to accept. FL refused to leave and went to see ML and saw ML kissing Wen Wan. FL asked why ML wanted her to leave with Xiao Yin. ML said he cannot be with a traitor’s daughter and already bored with FL. ML purposely said hurting words to force FL to leave him.
After FL left ML, she saw Dou Qian Jin. FL asked why Dou Qian Jin wants to marry her. Dou Qian Jin said he wanted to marry her because he knows she is Hua Zhu Yu and Yin Xu Xie. Dou Qian Jin said he has never seen her before and it took him a long time to find out she is Eunuch Xiao Bao. Dou Qian Jin said FL is a princess from Mo Guo and FL’s mother is his Aunty. FL said she wants to go look for her father to confirm what Dou Qian Jin told her. Hua Mu confirmed the fact. FL advised Hua Mu to give up his plan to attack Nan Chao. Hua Mu refused.
FL found out she is pregnant. FL rushed to the military camp and got to know that Hua Mu got heavily injured. Hua Mu tells FL to live the life she wants. FL knows Hua Mu regretted and wants to give up. FL pretended she will lead the military the next day to buy time to stop Huang Fu Wu Shuang.
FL met A Gui and his master, Rong Lou. Rong Lou asked FL who does she loves in her heart. FL confessed that she loves ML but he no longer loves her. A Gui and Rong Lou helped FL to testify that Huang Fu Wu Shuang is not a prince from Mo Guo. Huang Fu Wu Shuang abducted FL’s granny and Huang Fu Wu Shang. FL has no choice but to follow him. When FL saw her granny, she fights with Huang Fu Wu Shuang. Xiao Yin arrived and tried to help. Xiao Yin got injured. Rong Lou also came. FL realised Rong Lou is ML. Huang Fu Wu Shuang got stabbed by FL and fell into the ravine.
After everything is over, FL told Xiao Yin she will follow him back to Bei Chao Guo. ML’s heart pain watching them leaving. Xiao Yin’s injury is recovering very slow. FL got to know the truth why Xiao Yin had forgotten her and then remembered again. Huang Fu Wu Shang came with the snow lotus to treat Xiao Yin and to propose to marry Zhuo Ya Princess.
FL returned to Nan Chao and stayed in a temple with her granny (Old Madam Hua). Old Madam Hua told FL she is also a princess from Mo Guo and is her grand Aunty. Old Madam Hua advised FL to go see ML. Dan Hong came. Dan Hong showed FL, ML’s will. FL knows something bad had happened to ML. FL went to see ML. FL found out ML is very sick. ML got poisoned. FL saw Jin Se. Jin Se said the poison passed from FL to ML. ML overheard their conversation and got to know that the woman he had sex at the military camp was actually FL and not Jin Se.
FL went into labour. FL went into coma after she delivered. FL thought ML has no cure hence she rather dies with him. FL heard ML calling her to say he has recovered. The antidote came from the umbilical cord of their babies.
