Summary:
Hua Zhi (FL) is a 15-year-old girl and the first daughter of the Hua family. Old Master Hua is a 2nd rank officer and he has 4 sons. FL is Old Master Hua first granddaughter and his favourite. Old Master Hua and his whole family got punished after he urged the Emperor to appoint a crown prince fast. The Emperor has many princes and most of them are fighting for his throne.
All the male members of the Hua family above 10 years old got exiled to Ying Shan Guan, a cold place in the north at the country border. The female members of the family got spared because of Empress Dowager. Old Madam Hua and Empress Dowager were childhood friends.
FL’s mother is timid and weak. FL realised her grandmother, Old Madam Hua is very stress and would not be able to manage a family full of females. FL offered to take over the role. Everyone was shock. FL kept a very low profile and seldom mixed with her family members.
FL’s soul came from the modern world. She is a successful businesswoman but got murdered by her own sister. FL adapted very well in the ancient life and has no qualms being a nobody. She has no choice but to take lead after the Hua family got punished. All the family assets got taken away.
FL and her servants managed to smuggle lots of money when they have to leave their house. They moved to a small mansion not registered in the Hua’s property list. FL cancelled her engagement with the Shen family. She asked her mother and all the Aunties to stop communication with their in laws. FL said this is to protect their in laws from getting implicated. Gu Yan Xi (ML) saw FL the first time when she was riding on a horse to go see her grandfather, fathers and uncles. The second time, he saw her, FL was fighting with a man for her life. ML got attracted to FL. ML send his sister, Shao Yao who is a skilled doctor to treat FL. FL and Shao Yao became good friends.
ML wanted to get close to FL. ML became a martial arts teacher for the Hua children and their servant. FL was preparing to go to the north to see her family members. ML escorted FL to the north. FL knows ML has an unusual background but she never asks.
FL got home to see Old Madam Hua for the last time. Old Madam Hua’s first daughter, Hua Jing is a spoiled and selfish woman. Hua Jing throw tantrum in front of Old Madam Hua to accuse Old Master Hua for causing all the trouble and it implicated her. Hua Jing asked Old Madam Hua to give her Fu Dong (FL’s servant) to appease her anger. Old Madam Hua refused and severed her relationship with Hua Jing. Old Madam Hua’s heart broke and immediately fell sick.
FL forced Hua Jing to kneel outside the Hua’s residence during the wake. FL did not care what other said about her bullying her own Auntie. FL has no wish to get marry in future, hence she was not bother with anyone destroying her reputation.
Hua Xian (FL’s Auntie) got scorned by her husband. After the fall of the Hua family, Hua Xian’s husband beat Hua Xian without any hesitation. Hua Xian’s son, Yang Sui An begged FL to save his mother. FL brought Hua Xian home and forced Hua Xian’s husband to sign a separation agreement. FL made her family to accept Yang Sui An as part of the family.
Hua Jing (FL’s Auntie) thought of getting FL to help in her husband’s family. FL ignored her. Hua Jing hated FL and wanted to take revenge against FL. She hung herself outside the Hua’s residence. ML’s guard shifted Hua Jing and hang her in front of the Song’s family residence instead. FL went to Hua Jing’s funeral to announce the deletion of Hua Jing from the family record. FL wants to stop the Song family to use family relationship to get something from the Hua family. FL ignored all the talks about her cruelty towards Hua Jing.
ML confessed his admiration and love to FL. FL rejected ML. ML did not give up. FL accepted ML at last. ML told FL his identity as the Emperor’s nephew. ML told FL how his father betrayed his mother and how he saved Shao Yao. ML wanted to kill his own father but because of the Emperor and Empress Dowager, he has no choice but to wait.
6th Prince escaped from assassination from his brothers. 6th Prince bumped into FL. FL saved him. ML recognised 6th Prince and asked FL to keep him safe. FL treated 6th Prince like her brother. 6th Prince and Hua Bai Lin (FL’s brother) became close friends.
FL started a canned fruit business and it became very successful. She bought shops on a street and covert it into a snack street. FL went to the south to find another business venture. FL decided to import seafood from the south. FL brought 6th Prince with her. FL wanted 6th Prince to learn more. ML is planning to make 6th take over the throne after the Emperor passed away.
Emperor got poisoned. The mastermind is 1st Prince. 1st Prince got punished. His royal title taken away and changed to commoner and then exiled to Ying Shan Guan.
