Summary:
Shen Li (FL) is a female demon king, and she ran away after she was engaged to the Heavenly Emperor’s grandson, Fu Rong Jun. This arranged marriage is meant to unite the heavenly realm and the demonic realm. This arranged marriage was suggested by Xin Yun Jun (ML), an ancient god. FL dislikes Fu Rong Jun for being a playboy, even though she has not met him. During her escape, she got injured and woke up in the human world as a pheasant sold in the market by a hunter. Xin Yun Jun went to experience human life and coincidentally bought FL in the market. Xin Yun Jun lost his power after he drank the Meng Po soup before rebirth, but he could still sense spirits and retain his chanting skills.
FL slowly recovers her injury and turns back into a human form. FL likes Xin Yun Jun, but she knows that she cannot stay with him; otherwise, she will bring harm to him. The Demon Emperor came to capture FL and bring her back to the Demon Realm. However reluctant FL is, she has decided to go ahead with the wedding.
FL went to heaven to attend a function on behalf of the Demon King. There, she met Xin Yun Jun and sensed that he was very similar to the human she met. But Xin Yun Jun denied knowing her. Both fell in love, but they understood that they couldn’t be together.
Liu Ming is FL’s mother teacher. Liu Ming created Feng Lai, a powerful monster, to control the rest of the monster. Liu Ming gave Feng Lai to Liu Yu (FL’s mother) to take care of. Feng Lai and Liu Yu fell in love. After Feng Lai was captured and locked up, Liu Yu gave birth to FL and passed her to the Demon King to look after.
At the end of the story, ML sacrificed himself to save the world. But ML did not die but lost all his magical power. ML and FL got married at last.
