It started off as a comedy and then it slowly get more serious towards the mid part of the story. I found two versions of the audiobook with two different way on how they start the story. But Audiobook 2 is not finalised yet, as it only has up to 55 episodes. My summary below is based on Audiobook 1. This is the fifth book of Yun Wai Tian Du that I listened too. Not my favourite. I like 尚宫 (Shang Gong) more.
Summary:
FL’s soul came from the modern world. FL is the Szeto General’s goddaughter and she is called Jia Hui Ru. She is typically very lazy but she has a flair for making money. She has used her talent as an entrepreneur without her father’s knowledge. Her childhood friend, the general’s daughter is called Ming Chu, was selected as an imperial consort. Ming Chu begged FL to enter the palace to accompany her. Ming Chu has very good martial arts but very weak in the literary art. A lot of her poetry was done by FL on her behalf.
Xiao Fu Zi, is an eunuch that FL saved previously and became her loyal assistant.
ML – Lin Rui, a prince from another country.
There were lot of tricks and schemes between both ML and FL. As the title says, FL does not want to become a consort meanwhile ML kept pursuing her.
